Movie Stuff, the latest stuff pack for the Sims 3, builds a richer environment for Sims with stars in their eyes. Movie Stuff is the ninth stuff pack, so this means it’s not a full expansion but instead offers many new items. The theme here is movies, so costumes, set pieces, and even backdrops are what you’ll find here. The costumes and hairstyles are great, though the items all fall into specific categories of film. The first genre is horror/supernatural, including black lace veils and clothing with an abundance of leather straps. This makes the stuff pack a great addition to the Supernatural expansion pack. Those who enjoy the vampire, werewolf, and witch Sims will consider the spookier fashion pieces simply to die for. If the new clothing and hairstyles aren’t creepy enough, Sims can always scare others by filling their houses with haunted furniture, such as spooky bookshelves, dining tables, and candelabras.
Sims who want to test the forces of good and evil can opt to become a new superhero or supervillain, or at least dress like one. They can also build a secret lair, complete with a display for their costume, a command chair, and a lamp resembling a laser cannon. Jet around town in your Sim-Mobile, or you can opt for a Vigilante Supercycle. If you have a hankering for the wild west, this set features some wrangling duds, as well some fancy saloon dresses and feathers. Cowpokes with equestrian skills might especially enjoy some of the western items, such as the saloon style juice bar, the Dance Hall Dresser, and the rustic rocking chair.
Overall, the Sims 3 Movie Stuff pack helps flesh out very specific earlier additions to the game. Due to the very limited, thematic nature of the set items, they might not fit in with every game. Avid Sim fans who already own most of the expansions and are still looking to enhance their gaming experience should pick this one up.
