Nintendo sure is sitting pretty with the robust sales of Nintendo Wii and DS consoles. They have raised their operating profit forecast by 37 percent today.

Nintendo Co. Ltd. raised its annual outlook above market expectations after quarterly operating profit more than tripled on robust demand for its DS and Wii game gear, further boosting its skyrocketing stock.

Nintendo’s strategy to expand the gaming population to women and the elderly by offering innovative and easy-to-play games has paid off handsomely as its DS handheld player and Wii console have outsold rival Sony Corp. and Microsoft Corp. machines in recent months.
