Get out those point cards gamers in Canada, you can now rent movies straight from your Xbox 360 console starting today. Starting at 300 MS Points for SD movies and 440 for HD movies, it sure beats heading out ot the video store during a snowstorm or ice storm.
Microsoft Corporation today affirmed its place as global leader in downloadable high-definition gaming and entertainment content, as its Xbox LIVE™ Marketplace Video Store service launched in five new countries including Canada, France, Germany, Ireland and the United Kingdom. Following a highly successful launch in the United States last year, all Xbox 360™ owners connected to the internet in the above countries can now download to rent both high definition and standard definition movies direct to their console using Xbox LIVE Marketplace Video Store.
“Canadians now have access to an ever growing collection of high-definition entertainment content, including games and movies, right from their Xbox 360,” said Scott Nocas, Global Marketing Manager, Xbox LIVE. “We are committed to bringing new partners on board and expanding our relationship with existing partners in order to expand our Canadian consumer’s entertainment choices in 2008.”
Xbox 360 gamers in the launch countries can access Xbox Live Marketplace Video Store with both an Xbox Live Silver or Gold membership and a broadband connection. Cost per download is from as little as 300 Microsoft Points for Standard Definition movies and from 440 Microsoft Points for High Definition movies.
