Nintendo has launched a new Nintendo DS, called the Nintendo DSi; it boasts a new 3 megapixel camera, an mp3 player and photo editing software built right in. The screen is .25 larger than the older Nintendo DS and the unit is slightly thinner.

The unit will retail for ¥18,900 ($179 USD), Nintendo removed the GBA slot. All GBA games will no longer work with this new Nintendo DSi. No firm release date for North America was announced at the launch.
