Party games are all the rage on the Nintendo Wii, Ubisoft is no exception with the Rayman Raving Rabbid series of party games.  This time around, we review Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party for the Wii; the game features those crazy Rabbids stirring trouble on various television shows.

The game is split into a series of television shows, each time slot is a different show that you get to choose either solo or multiplayer.  Some games are one player a time as indicated with a Rabbid icon on the bottom right of each game.  While some other party games get dull very quickly, there are so many unique party games in Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party that it will keep you and your friends entertained for a long time.

It is hard to review a party game since it would spoil the surprises of the various mini games if I mentioned every single mini game included in the game.  I will mention a few fun filled games that got us all laughing at the office.

Night of the Living Dead is a spoof on zombie movies where you must shoot plungers at chickens that don’t belong in the movie scene using your Wii remote.  Don’t hit the actors and the real zombies or else you’ll lose points.  This is a blast and could even make a full length game one day…well maybe if you just shot the zombies.

Snowboarding seems like another Ubisoft title on the Wii, Shaun White Snowboarding; I wonder if the other team helped out for this one?  However, this time around you have to sit on your Wii balance board to make jumps and crazy aerobatics using your Wii remote and Nunchuck.  Don’t worry, if you don’t own a Wii balance board you can still just use your Remote and Nunchuck.  This game is one player at a time even if you own two Wii balance boards, the same with some of the other “driving games”.

Cooking and Tennis anyone?  In this mini game you must fry up a hamburger and serve it into a waiting beast.  Undercook or over cook the burger and you’ll get less points when the animal eats it.

Dancing is one of my favorite games, on the screen a bunch of dancing moves scroll by from right to left, and you must do the move exactly when the model hits the proper spot.  There are quite a few catchy 60 tunes and a few 80 tunes as well for you to dance to, very fun indeed when you get 4 players dancing on the floor all at once.

The mini games are sometimes interrupted by a quick reflex intermission, such as slapping someone awake, or clicking the weather report sun symbol (hint, it’s upside down) whomever “wins” this quick game is allowed to choose the next mini-game to play.

If you own a Wii Balance board and have been sad that not many games support it, Ubisoft has you covered in this game.  You might even find yourself playing some of the Wii balance board games alone, how many party games have you played by yourself? Over half the games can be used with the Wii balance board and it really does make you look like a total goof..

Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party is one of the better party games out there and is a must by if you have guests over this Holiday season who love to play party games on your Nintendo Wii, with it’s strange but funny humor and over 50 mini games, you’ll have a blast!

Gameplay

Fun and unique mini games that are very varied and make use of the Wii Balance board or just the Nunchuck/Remote.

Graphics

Some odd slowdowns occur, but over all very cute and crazy at the same time.

Sound

Can’t go wrong with the extremely robust sound track for most mini games and of course the dancing.

Overall

Having friends over who love party games? Raving Rabbids TV Party is the game for Holiday 2008 and behind.
