Fans came a big step closer to setting the skies alight today as NAMCO BANDAI Games America, Inc. announced that the team at Project Aces have completed development on ACE COMBAT ASSAULT HORIZON. The next generation air combat opus is scheduled for release across North America on October 11, 2011 for Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system for the suggested retail price of $59.99.
While supplies last, fans who purchase ACE COMBAT ASSAULT HORIZON at participating retailers beginning on launch day will receive three free multiplayer skills to enhance the online combat experience. Also from day one, all players will be able to download the fantastic winning entry to the recent Facebook Skin Design Contest, Death Rider by Chi-Chun Liu, as a playable skin for the F15-C fighter.

With the team at Project Aces now hard at work on the game’s downloadable content, some premium DLC is scheduled for post-launch featuring a brand new fictional aircraft, the ASF-X Shinden II, CFA-44 Nosferatu, as well as Su-37 Terminator, Tornado GR.4, AV-8B Harrier II Plus, YF-23 Black Widow II, F-15S/MTD and KA-50 Hokum. Loads more premium DLC content, including skins and maps, such as Tokyo and Hawaii, is lined up for release over the months ahead to keep the skies alive with fire.
For a taste of what the intense aerial shooter has in store, the single player demo of ACE COMBAT ASSAULT HORIZON is available now for free download via PlayStation®Network and Xbox Live®. Featuring two complete missions, the demo invites players to engage in an intense dogfight over sun-kissed Miami and a devastating helicopter mission in support of an elite Delta Force rescue operation. The demo also functions as a tutorial to help players gain familiarity with the new gameplay mechanics.

I love the Ace Combat series, you’d think they would add Kinect functions so you can hold a broom or something and fly a plane 🙂
