Today, Ubisoft announced a partnership with pro hockey goaltender Carey Price to promote Assassin’s Creed III.
A three-time All-Star and ranking among the elite of pro hockey in North America, Price set several records in 2011 appearing in 71 of the 82 regular season games, tying Ken Dryden’s record of shutouts in one season (8) and winning the Molson Cup player of the year award with his pro team in Montréal.
A contest, in collaboration with The Sports Network (TSN) and Réseau des Sports (RDS), will give gamers and hockey fans the chance to vote for their favorite Assassin’s Creed III-themed mask among the three models carefully designed by the Ubisoft Montreal development team. The mask who receives the most votes at the end of the voting period will be replicated 31 times and auctioned off on Hockey Helps. The highest bidder among all 31 auctions will get to meet Carey Price. All proceeds will be donated to different charities across the country, carefully selected by Ubisoft and Carey Price.

“We’ve always been involved in our community and in helping different charities but as we’re launching our biggest game ever, we decided to take it to a whole new level,” said Lucile Bousquet, Marketing & Communications Director at Ubisoft Canada. “We’re glad to count on Carey’s help to push this one-of-a-kind initiative to new heights.”
“The opportunity to associate my name to such a unique charity project as well to one of the most anticipated titles of 2012 is something I couldn’t say no to,” said Carey Price. “I’m proud and excited to join Team Assassin’s Creed.”
Set against the backdrop of the American Revolution in the late 18th century, Assassin’s Creed III introduces a new hero, Ratohnhaké:ton, of Native American and English heritage. Adopting the name Connor, he becomes the new voice for justice in the ancient war between the Assassins and Templars. Players become an Assassin in the war for liberty against ruthless tyranny in the most stylized and fluid combat experiences in the franchise to date. Assassin’s Creed III spans the Revolutionary War, taking gamers from the vibrant, untamed frontier to bustling colonial towns and the intense, chaotic battlefields where George Washington’s Continental Army clashed with the imposing British Army.
Assassin’s Creed III is now available for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and Sony PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system at EB Games Canada, Amazon, Future Shop, Best Buy, Wal-Mart and Microplay/Videotron.
