As part of the global “The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses” tour for 2013, the acclaimed concert will revisit Montreal and Toronto and once again capture the hearts of video game and music enthusiasts. Fans and music lovers will be able to journey back to Hyrule and enjoy a new exciting season, featuring all-new, breathtaking material exploring even more chapters from the Zelda universe, in addition to the beautifully orchestrated four-movement symphony that debuted in 2012 recounting all of the franchise’s mainstay moments. The concert will be performed in Montreal at the Place des Arts on June 14 and in Toronto at Sony Centre on September 7.
Based on one of the most popular and beloved video game series of all time, the tour—which has been hailed as a modern classic—features live orchestral performances of theme music from Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda franchise. The name “Symphony of the Goddesses” refers not only to the concert program but also to the four-movement symphony recounting the classic storylines from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. The performance also will highlight orchestral renditions of music from other series games, including The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening and The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. Eímear Noone will conduct the full orchestra with arrangements by music director Chad Seiter.
“Gaming fans across Canada have a strong devotion to the Zelda franchise,” notes Jason Michael Paul, CEO of Jason Michael Paul Productions, which is producing the concert tour. “After receiving many, many requests from fans and music goers, we are thrilled to be bringing the show back to Montreal and Toronto and give these fans a spectacular second season.”
Patrons will relish in their favourite moments from the game, carefully and beautifully timed with a gorgeous orchestral score approved by Nintendo sound director and Zelda franchise composer, Koji Kondo. The concert is a festive experience for all walks of fans, some of which have been known to attend donning green tunics while wielding legendary master swords. Cosplay encouraged!
