Nintendo of Canada Super Smash Club 1Counting down to the launch of the Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS game on October 3, Nintendo of Canada is tapping into fan excitement with a line-up of fan events and activities in advance of this highly anticipated game, available for the first time on a portable system.

Even Reggie Fils-Aime, president and chief operating officer of Nintendo of America, has recognized that Canadians are among the most zealous of Super Smash Bros. fans and has put forth a special video challenge of epic proportions to prepare fans for battle. In his video, Reggie challenges Canadian fans to define the rules of battle for Super Smash Club, to share their excitement for the franchise on social media using the hashtag #SuperSmashClub and to show their support by attending upcoming Super Smash Club events across Canada.

First rule of Super Smash Club: Fans make the rules for Super Smash Club

From September 18 to 26, fans can take to Nintendo of Canada’s Facebook page or tweet at @NintendoCanada to suggest a rule to include in the final chosen 10 official Super Smash Club rules. The official set of club rules will be revealed via the Nintendo of Canada Facebook page and Twitter page on September 30, and used at all upcoming Super Smash Club events. Fans whose rules were chosen to be part of the final list of rules, as determined by Nintendo of Canada, will be entered into a random draw for a chance to win 1 of 20 Super Smash Bros. branded towels.*

Share your love of Super Smash Bros. online

Once a Super Smash Bros. fan, always a Super Smash Bros. fan. From October 1 to 10, fans are invited to share their favourite Super Smash Bros. memorabilia, artwork, cosplay, memories or pictures via the hashtag #SuperSmashClub on Twitter or Facebook. Select submissions will be re-shared by Nintendo of Canada on its Facebook page or Twitter feed. Ten submissions will be selected by random draw to each win a Super Smash Bros. branded towel.**

Attend Super Smash Club events

Four fan and family-friendly Super Smash Club Main Events will be hosted in Toronto, Mississauga, Vancouver and Montreal. A great outing for Super Smash Bros. novices or hard core fans, there is no cost to attend, but registration is required as space is limited (registration details will be available at a later date at nintendo.ca/supersmashclub). Those in attendance will receive a Super Smash Club takeaway (while supplies last) and learn or perfect new skills to take them into battle. Fans are encouraged to bring their Nintendo 3DS system to battle and enjoy StreetPass interactions with other players!

Nintendo of Canada has partnered with Future Shop to host in-store fan events at select locations, while additional Super Smash Bros. events are planned in additional cities and venues across the country. Future details on exact locations are to be announced. For more information on all Super Smash Club events, please visit nintendo.ca/supersmashclub.
