Interactive Entertainment, TT Games, The LEGO Group and Marvel Entertainment announced today that LEGO Marvel Super Heroes will be available beginning Fall 2013 for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system, the Wii U system and Windows PC, as well as the Nintendo DS handheld system, Nintendo 3DS handheld system and PlayStation Vita handheld entertainment system. Dishonored was one of the nice surprises this year. It’s a new franchise and it has some really nice fluid, dynamic gameplay. One of the disservices to the title though was its single player. The levels could be long, they’re always tied to the story, and you were never quite sure how you were affecting your chaos rating. So while the gameplay was ripe for replayability, it wasn’t always ripe to be played. The first piece of downloadable content for Dishonored aims to rectify that.

DmC Devil May Cry will be available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 across Europe and North America on January 15, 2013 with a PC version to follow on January 25, 2013. Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory was the first M-rated game I ever played. Granted, the ratings board wouldn’t have donned such a rating today, but it’s one that feels somehow deserving. It’s not a “mature” game in the sense that it’s full of obscenity and violence, but it is a mature game in the sense that it feels real. Gritty, poignant, and visceral.
