Sports Champions 2 – Review (PS3 / PlayStation Move)

Posted By Celeste Dobropolski On December 6, 2012 at 4:14 pm Comments Off on Sports Champions 2 – Review (PS3 / PlayStation Move)

Sports Champions 2 PS3 ScreenshotMotion controls lend themselves to specific play styles. While precision and aiming are great for shooters, many shooter interfaces require more controls than just pointing and shooting. Motions also seem like a great way to progress through action games, but it’s difficult to balance how much activity is needed for a fulfilling amount of game time without growing repetitive or tiring. Which brings us to the genre that most people immediately associate with motion controls: sports titles. Interactive sports titles are perfect for motion controls because they embrace the playing style necessary for motion to be successful. Sports titles offer varied motions, short play times, ability to play well with groups, and accomplishment systems that allow the player to easily disengage at any point without penalty.

Posted By David Klein On December 2, 2012 at 10:32 pm 3 COMMENTS

Far Cry 3 ScreenshotEver since its exciting reveal at E3 of this year, Far Cry 3 has been one the most anticipated games of the year. The sequel to a game that came with mixed reception from both critics and fans, Far Cry 2 was a drastic shift from the game that came before it. Far Cry 3 is a continuation with this open world game type with another attempt to fine tune this formula into the must play experience. Was the experiment a universal success this time around or does Far Cry still need another shake up before its ready for primetime?

Transformers Prime Wii U ScreenshotAs with many television shows, it is usually inevitable that there will be a video game developed for a videogame console based on said show; usually this also means that the game will be of dubious quality, meant only for the purpose of being a cash grab and nothing more. This game is not much different. But it is not quite the garbage pile one would expect.
