Zombi U New Gameplay Videos and Screenshots from Comic-Con 2012

Developed from the ground up by Ubisoft Montpellier, ZombiU delivers an immersive survival-horror experience, bringing players into a post-infected London circa 2012. In the game, an outbreak has infected the population turning them into mindless monsters preying on the flesh of the few remaining survivors. This fear-fueled first-person shooter takes all the horror, chaos and tension found in the best of the horror genre and adds original interactive elements, including a unique death mechanic that puts players in the body of a different survivor each time they die, allowing them to track and take down their old, infected characters, to recover their life-saving equipment.

World Gone Sour – Review (Xbox 360)

Posted By Rob Dillman On July 16, 2012 at 4:06 pm Comments Off on World Gone Sour – Review (Xbox 360)

World Gone Sour Screenshot 2I have absolutely no idea how World Gone Sour was made. Capcom’s certainly no stranger to shilling brands, as evidenced by their successful iOS effort, Smurfs’ Village, or even their oft-forgotten 1990 NES game, Yo! Noid, starring an even more oft-forgotten Dominos Pizza mascot, the Noid. Oddly enough, though commercial adaptations are traditionally frowned upon in the video game industry, Capcom’s proven time and time again through both those works and through their older Disney games that it is possible to create a quality video game based on an established brand.  Can they and developer Playbrains find sweet inspiration in an even sweeter brand of candy?

FINAL FANTASY XIV (version 2.0) Hyur and Miqo’te Race Revealed

Posted By Justin Lee On July 13, 2012 at 11:34 am Comments Off on FINAL FANTASY XIV (version 2.0) Hyur and Miqo’te Race Revealed

Square Enix has confirmed two races in FINAL FANTASY XIV (version 2.0) Hyur and Miqo’te races. They also included some neat facts and concept art for you to check out:

Hyur
Over the course of some one thousand years and three great migratory waves, the Hyur have become the most populous of the civilized races in Eorzea. The Hyur champion personal freedom and liberty, and their mastery of various languages and traditions lends to their diverse heritage―as is their resulting lack of a unified cultural identity.

Miqo’te
Though their presence in Eorzea is lesser than that of the other races, the Miqo’te are easily distinguished by their large, projecting ears and restless, feline tails. Their ancestors first migrated to the realm during the Age of Endless Frost in the Fifth Umbral Era by traversing frozen seas in pursuit of wildlife for sustenance. Instinctual territoriality causes many among them to lead solitary lifestyles. Males in particular are said to shy from contact.

Ouya Game Console Revealed in Kick Starter Project

Posted By Justin Lee On July 10, 2012 at 4:17 pm Comments Off on Ouya Game Console Revealed in Kick Starter Project

Android tv boxes from China are the norm these days, there are a few “commercial boxes” out there but none are suited to gaming. They either don’t have enough memory or the cpu is just plain slow, Ouya on the other hand has pretty sweet specs:

– Tegra3 quad-core processor
– 1GB RAM
– 8GB of internal flash storage
– HDMI connection to the TV, with support for up to 1080p HD
– WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
– Bluetooth LE 4.0
– USB 2.0 (one)
– Wireless controller with standard controls (two analog sticks, d-pad, eight action buttons, a system button), a touchpad
– Android 4.0

The only thing we find lacking is only one usb port and no micro sd slot. They claim it will be already rooted, so hackers can make their own firmware (Google Play store anyone?) and it only costs $99 to get one shipped to you in the U.S. ($20 more if you are outside of the U.S.). The first units will ship in March 2013.

Here’s a nifty video Ouya released:
