Since March 7, fans nationwide have been casting their votes to determine the next cover athlete for Madden NFL 13, logging 4.3 million votes during the play-in round and more than 8.5 million votes since the start of the bracket phase of the competition on March 21. Weekly fan voting will determine which of the remaining 16 NFL players will advance through seeded brackets – culminating with the unveiling of the Madden NFL 13 cover athlete winner on ESPN’s SportsNation on April 25 at 5 p.m. ET.

Ridge racer PS Vita screenshotRidge Racer 7 on the PS3, released in 2006, has 22 courses and over 40 cars. Ridge Racer on the Vita, released in 2012, has, as of this writing, 5 courses and 9 cars.

Statistics can often be misleading. Though numbers never lie, they may not actually say what they appear to at first glance. A baseball player with a low batting average may make up for it in on-base percentage and slugging percentage. Pools are not as dangerous as airplanes even though they may kill more people in a year (Freakonomics, anyone?). However, in a game where there’s little else to do but race, there is no excuse for having this few courses.

Ubisoft reveals more information about Assassin’s Creed III through an all-new video and a series of screenshots. These assets highlight the new hero’s background, including weapons he uses and the different environments he will be in throughout the game.

Set against the backdrop of the American Revolution in the late 18th century, Assassin’s Creed III introduces a new hero, Ratohnhaké:ton, of Native American and English heritage. Adopting the name Connor, he becomes the new voice for justice in the ancient war between the Assassins and Templars. Players become an Assassin in the war for liberty against ruthless tyranny in the most stylized and fluid combat experiences in the franchise to date. The Rhythm series is developed by Nintendo and has been released on the handheld consoles for the past few years and the series has developed a strong following in Japan as well as in the United States ever since. The series is primarily made up of mini games that utilize hand eye coordination as well as the ability to pick up on a rhythm and press a button or button(s) in correlation with the beat of the music. UK video game companies got a nice tax break in the UK budget that was released today.

Today’s Budget Day in the UK, which means news report complaining about taxes on stuff and general commentary on how this will improve/destroy society. We don’t care too much about that, because buried inside the 707kb, 116 page document there’s something newsworthy to us techies. A few things at least.

Firstly, game companies can enjoy corporation tax relief from April 2013, pending approval from various governmental places. This is what the games industry has campaigned for and has finally got, which makes them happy.
