METAL GEAR RISING: REVENGEANCE Announced and First Screen Shots Revealed

Posted By Justin Lee On December 12, 2011 at 4:14 pm Comments Off on METAL GEAR RISING: REVENGEANCE Announced and First Screen Shots Revealed

Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc., today takes the wraps off one of the most anticipated games of the year: METAL GEAR RISING: REVENGEANCE.

Announced over two years ago, KONAMI premiered a new trailer for METAL GEAR RISING: REVENGEANCE at the prestigious Video Game Awards on December 10th, and is now ready to outline the direction the action title is taking and detailing those behind it. METAL GEAR RISING: REVENGEANCE is a stunning action title, produced by Kojima Productions and developed by Platinum Games. Kojima Productions has created the story for the game, managed the cutscenes and voice-over sessions, and Metal Gear Solid artist Yoji Shinkawa has created the character designs. Platinum Games will focus on the game design and programming elements, under the supervision of Kojima Productions. A special documentary piece will debut on www.metalgearsolid.com this Tuesday, 5:00PM (PST) that will reveal more on the development collaboration details between Kojima Productions and Platinum Games.

Hideo Kojima, Head of Kojima Productions and creator of the Metal Gear series, personally chose Platinum Games to create the new title, and Metal Gear Solid veteran Yuji Korekado has been appointed to oversee the project for Kojima productions and will work closely with Platinum’s Atsushi Inaba. Hideo Kojima will act as Executive Producer. These appointments follow the decision to reposition METAL GEAR RISING: REVENGEANCE as a more action-orientated title than initially planned, with Platinum Games creating a game where the player has total control of the main character – the cybernetically-enhanced Raiden from METAL GEAR SOLID 4: Guns of the Patriots – and a total freedom of how users control him. As such, the game title has been subtly rebranded to reflect the more action-based content than in previous Metal Gear Solid titles.

Assassin’s Creed Revelations – Review (Xbox 360)

Posted By Michael Leparc On December 9, 2011 at 1:05 pm Comments Off on Assassin’s Creed Revelations – Review (Xbox 360)

Assassin's Creed RevelationsStop me if you’ve heard this one. You take a video game series centered around stealth, with a well known protagonist that has a filled out back story, then you actually let him age to the point where he has gray hairs and a beard and.. well.. no.. it’s not Metal Gear Solid. It’s Assassin’s Creed Revelations, the latest yearly iteration of Ubisoft’s cloak and dagger smash hit. And while that little detail about Ezio’s appearance in this version may be nothing new, the way the story continues to unfold does not disappoint, for the most part anyway. The same can be said for the gameplay which is both tried and true at its core, but a bit overextended in its ambition.

Ace Combat: Assault Horizon – Review (Xbox 360)

Posted By Rob Dillman On December 9, 2011 at 12:43 pm Comments Off on Ace Combat: Assault Horizon – Review (Xbox 360)

Ace Combat Assault HorizonAmong many things, Mark Twain is famous for coining the term “The Gilded Age” to describe a time of excess and shameless display that didn’t actually extend beyond the superficial. When industry boomed in the United States after the Civil War, wealth skyrocketed. Though the country seemed rich and full of life, it didn’t take a lot of careful examination to determine the lack of depth once past the surface.

Today Capcom is releasing another glimpse of the new DmC – Devil May Cry. Featuring almost two minutes of straight gameplay, the newest trailer sees Dante navigating the streets of a city that is trying to kill him. The game is slated for a 2012 release for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Rayman Origins – Review (Xbox 360)

Posted By Fandel Mulkey On December 8, 2011 at 3:00 pm 1 COMMENT

Rayman Origins - ScreenshotThe Rayman series has traditionally been the victim of having the worst timing when it comes to game releases. The original game was released in 1995; with the lead platform being the Atari Jaguar, with secondary releases on the Sega Saturn and Sony Playstation. The first two systems were outright bombs, with the Jagaur being a bigger one than the Saturn. As for the Playstation: while it was enormously successful, releasing a 2D game on the father of mainstream 3D polygons was about a smart as releasing a XXX BMX game on the Gamecube.
