GoldenEye 007: Reloaded – Review (Xbox 360)

Posted By Nathan Weller On November 30, 2011 at 1:27 pm Comments Off on GoldenEye 007: Reloaded – Review (Xbox 360)

GoldenEye 007 Reloaded ScreenshotUnfortunately, I never owned a Nintendo 64. It was the envy of my middle school years, but out of my grasp. Thankfully, my friend had one, and, as was mandatory for the day, a copy of Goldeneye. We would play four player splitscreen on a 27 inch tv, and we liked it! Oh, how far we’re come. In 1997, Goldeneye launched to great success and still pops up on videogame charts whenever sites need some filler content with their “Top 100 Games” lists. Rareware, before they were known as Rare, and before their subsequent absorption by Microsoft, had a hit on their hands. This all leads us to realize the thick rose colored glasses that we’re all wearing when it comes to this game. We review GoldenEye 007: Reloaded for the Xbox 360 from Activision.

Ultimate Marvel Versus Capcom 3 screenshotIn February 2011 Capcom released the game Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds, to much fanfare. A Sequel to the popular Marvel vs Capcom 2, which was released 11 years prior, was eagerly anticipated by the die hard fans of the series. When MvC3 (Marvel vs Capcom 3) became available, it was apparent that a lot of the things that the die hard fans loved were taken out, replaced by combos that weren’t infinite and a more laid back approach that would appeal to all gamers, instead of the die hard fans. Capcom, in listening to their die hard fan-base, put together a new form of MvC3, an ultimate version, as it were. Placing in new characters that the fan-base were very disappointed weren’t in the first installment. This is how we come to review Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 for the Xbox 360.

Super Mario 3D Land – Review (3DS)

Posted By David Klein On November 23, 2011 at 4:14 pm 1 COMMENT

Super Mario 3D Land Screenshot 3DSSuper Mario 3D Land is the first title to be touted as a killer app for the young Nintendo 3DS. For months now the best the system has had to offer was rehashes of games found on other systems like Super Street Fighter IV and Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time which while are still solid games after making the transition to the handheld system they are far from being an original game. The Super Mario Land series was big hit with all three of its installments on the original Gameboy with each being even better than the last.
