New Transformers: Dark of the Moon Screenshots Released

Activision has released new screenshots for the upcoming Transformers: Dark of the Moon videogame for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms. The game is due out June 14th 2011, for now check out these screenshots.

The Transformers: Dark of the Moon video game thrusts players directly into an original prologue storyline to experience the epic battles on Earth that will shape the events of the upcoming blockbuster film. Armed with a new gameplay mechanic called Stealth Force, fans will be able to instantly convert to a third, hybrid state that combines the weapons and firepower of Robot Mode with the agility and maneuverability of Vehicle Mode. Set in unique environments around the world such as the Jungles of Central America, Siberian military facilities, Urban Cityscapes and more, the game lets players assume the roles of a diverse roster of favorite TRANSFORMERS characters from the movie through a heart-pounding campaign to save mankind. Additionally, fans can play the game with or against their friends through intense, online multiplayer game modes as iconic characters.

My first encounter with the Sims franchise was when EA ported the original Sims to the consoles back in 2002-or-so. I actually wasn’t expecting to like the game, but it turned out to be an unexpected surprise, as I spent countless hours creating layouts of houses and building relationships with my fellow Sims. Ironically, even though I enjoyed my time with the Sims; I’ve stayed away from the franchise mostly out of happenstance: I didn’t have a powerful enough computer until a few months after Sims 2 came out, and the later console versions seemed like they were quick cash-ins to Sims 2 By the time the 3rd game came out, I was far enough removed from the franchise to simply skip it and move on.

Brink’s Get SMART Series: New HUD Video Released

Bethesda Softworks has released the fourth video in Brink’s Get SMART Series covering all things HUD. With just about a week to go until Brink hits shelves, the Get SMART Series offers helpful advice on how to feel like a pro on day one. Brink is scheduled for release on the PlayStation 3, Windows PC and Xbox 360 on May 10th in North America.

Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) and Sony Network Entertainment International (SNEI, the company) announced they will shortly begin a phased restoration by region of PlayStation Network and Qriocity services, beginning with gaming, music and video services to be turned on. Valve, creators of best-selling game franchises (such as Half-Life, Left 4 Dead, Team Fortress, and Counter-Strike) and leading technologies (such as Steam and Source), today announced the first game add-on for the year’s highest rated multiplatform game, Portal 2, is in development and targeted for this summer.

Portal 2 DLC #1 will offer new test chambers for players, leaderboards, challenge mode for single and multiplayer modes, and more.

Targeted for release this summer, Portal 2 DLC #1 will be offered free of charge for the PC, Mac, Xbox 360, and PS3.

BioWare and LucasArts today unveiled the appearances of various armor sets that the Sith Warrior will wear as they develop and amass power in The Old Republic. While there are many paths to choose from in a character’s story, this example of the Sith Warrior’s progression gives you a small glimpse of the armor, abilities and Advanced Classes a Sith Warrior may claim as they pursue their own destiny.

Yakuza 4 is an action-adventure game developed and published by Sega exclusively for the PlayStation 3. Released in March 2010 in Japan, and just a year later, the fourth installment in SEGA’s Japanese mafia story has come to the U.S. If you’ve played any of the previous Yakuza titles then you already have some sort of idea of how this game plays. In Yakuza 4, however, Kiryu is joined by 3 new characters to help develop the rich, atmospheric story. Can an eastern Mafioso masterpiece live up to western standards and competition? We’ll find out.
