Michael Jackson The Experience – Review (Xbox 360)

Michael Jackson in a video game might seem like an odd marriage at first, though he’s no stranger to this world. Anybody who’s owned a Sega Genesis has probably heard of Michael Jackson’s Moonwalker, which was this weird beat’em up game that where it was your job as Michael Jackson to go through levels beating up baddies and look for children to rescue. Keep in mind that this was before the whole controversy that was a major shadow near the end of his career. The point being is this isn’t the first time that Michael Jackson has been showcased within a game and this time around theme for the game at least makes a bit more sense. Michael Jackson: The Experience is a pretty accurate for what the game is about, you use the Kinect to make you feel like the man having you do the dance moves and singing his songs. Now the question is does the game make you feel like a star or a two-bit Michael Jackson wannabe.

Posted By David Klein On April 27, 2011 at 12:27 pm Comments Off on Crysis 2 – Review (Xbox 360)

Times sure have changed since the 2007 release of Crysis was first unleashed into a world of unprepared desktop computers. What was one of the most demanding games to come out on the PC that brought once powerful computer to their knees is now seeing it’s sequel on the somewhat less prestigious console. The whole reason the first Crysis didn’t make it on the console was because it was believed the console couldn’t ever handle its hefty requirements but look where we are now. Now instead of being a graphical testament to what spending $1500 will get you, this time around it could be a testament to your $300 purchase.

PlayStation Network Outage Update and FAQ Posted

Posted By Justin Lee On April 27, 2011 at 11:11 am 1 COMMENT

Patrick Seybold Sr. Director, Corporate Communications & Social Media has posted an upate to the PlayStation Network outage and now we know that they were hacked and some data may have been compromised. One point on the FAQ that may concern you:

14. What personally identifying information do you suspect has been compromised?
Although we are still investigating the details of this incident, we believe that an unauthorized person has obtained the following information provided by PlayStation Network/Qriocity account holders: name, address (city, state, zip), country, email address, birth date, PlayStation Network/Qriocity password, login, and handle/PSN online ID. Other profile data may also have been obtained, including purchase history and billing address (city, state, zip). If an account holder has authorized a sub-account for a dependent, the same data with respect to that dependent may have been obtained. If an account holder provided credit card data through PlayStation Network or Qriocity, it is possible that the credit card number (excluding security code) and expiration date may also have been obtained.

I wanted to take this opportunity to clarify a point and answer one of the most frequently asked questions today.

There’s a difference in timing between when we identified there was an intrusion and when we learned of consumers’ data being compromised. We learned there was an intrusion April 19th and subsequently shut the services down. We then brought in outside experts to help us learn how the intrusion occurred and to conduct an investigation to determine the nature and scope of the incident. It was necessary to conduct several days of forensic analysis, and it took our experts until yesterday to understand the scope of the breach. We then shared that information with our consumers and announced it publicly this afternoon.

For those who were looking there’s also an FAQ with some more frequently asked questions.

Thank you for your continued patience and support.

Do Gamers Hate Everything?

Posted By Malcolm Owen On April 25, 2011 at 7:54 pm 1 COMMENT

Following on from the backlash of Portal 2’s Alternate Reality Game on Metacritic, I have to ask myself “Do gamers hate everything?”. I find it hard to answer that, as I consider myself a gamer and enjoy such things I cannot possibly hate, such as random videos on Youtube featuring animals being cute.

It’s a good thing that there’s now a website out there that can answer the question for us all. GamersHateEverything.com scans the internet and analyzes everything said about gaming to give you a concise and accurate answer.

Ok, it doesn’t, but it’s funny at least…
