Codemasters has just released a new trailer for Operation Flashpoint: Red River, the upcoming chapter in the multi-million selling tactical shooter series. Dubbed “Take the Hit,” the new video focuses on the Marines being forced to fight on their back foot against a huge PLA fighting force, retreating, regrouping and assessing their next move.

Electronic Arts Inc. and Crytek GmbH, award-winning developers of the Crysis franchise, announced today that Crysis 2 is available at retailers in North America and will be available in Europe on March 25. Crysis 2 catapults players into a stunning recreation of New York City in 2023, left ravaged by an alien attack. Players will use the powers of the Nanosuit 2 to be fast, be strong and be invisible, in an attempt to save humanity from this fatal invasion. Battle: Los Angeles the video game is an interesting tie in with the movie. Many have referred to the movie as Call of Duty with aliens, well looks like someone heard you as Konami has released a Battle: Los Angeles game on the Xbox Live Arcade on Xbox 360 for a mere 800 points (about $10). The game puts you straight into the battle with the aliens, but with such a small price tag, could it be too low budget for first person shooter fans?

Electronic Arts Inc. announced today that football fans across the country will have the opportunity to select the next cover athlete for the award-winning Madden NFL franchise. Beginning today and continuing through April 27, fans can participate in a bracket-style voting campaign on http://www.ESPN.com/MaddenVote and choose among 32 candidates (one representative from every NFL team) to appear on the cover of Madden NFL 12. Fans’ votes will determine which NFL players advance through the seeded bracket, culminating in the reveal of the Madden NFL 12 cover athlete on ESPN’s “SportsNation” on April 27.*
