Electronic Arts and award-winning developer Crytek GmbH today announced the Crysis 2 Multiplayer Demo. Starting January 25, the multiplayer demo will be available exclusively on the Xbox 360 videogame and entertainment system for Xbox Live Gold Members and will allow them to experience the unparalleled gameplay variety offered by the franchise’s signature Nanosuit in a multiplayer setting. In 2010, Crysis 2 was honored with over a dozen awards from critics around the world in recognition of its intense, addictive and stunning multiplayer. Crysis 2 multiplayer catapults players into a war-torn Manhattan where two teams fight to the death, each using the powers of the Nanosuit to be fast, be strong and be invisible. Maps will be set across Crytek’s stunning recreation of New York City, presenting players with vertical gameplay that allows them to strategize, attack and defend from above and below.

Ubisoft announces Fit in Six, a new fitness game for the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system which also utilizes PlayStation Move functionality and for the Wii system from Nintendo which leverages Ubisoft’s USB camera accessory. Developed by Ubisoft Blue Byte studio in Düsseldorf, Germany, the game separates overall fitness routines into six core elements — Core body, Upper body, Lower body, Cardio, Balance and Flexibility — that help you focus on getting fit and reaching your goals. The workouts have been developed by experienced fitness professionals to ensure that every move is performed precisely and effectively. Fit in Six will be available in March 2011.

For the Wii system the USB camera will provide a picture-in-picture view that enables players to compare their own movements to the in-game coach for a more accurate replication of exercises. Fit in Six is offered in a bundle package with the Wii-compatible USB camera; the game will also be sold separately.

For the PlayStation 3 system players can upload music to their PS3 and perform workouts to the beat of their favorite songs. The PS3™ analyzes your playlist and suggests the music that suits the right rhythm for each workout.

Disney Interactive Studios Shuts Down Propaganda Games

Disney has confirmed the shutdown of Propaganda Games. The Vancouver developer might sound familiar as they just released Tron: Evolution video game in December and the highly popular Turok for the Xbox 360. They were also developing a really promising Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned game, but that project was canceled in 2010.

Tron Evolution had one free DLC released, however it is unlikely anymore will be released since the studio has been shutdown.

Sony Computer Entertainment America LLC. hosted a three day celebration in an effort to set five Guinness World Records attributed to LittleBigPlanet 2, the latest PlayStation 3 PLAY, CREATE, SHARE experience and sequel to the award-winning, multi-million unit selling hit LittleBigPlanet. Beginning Monday, January 17 and concluding at 6:00pm EST tonight, dedicated LittleBigPlanet fans took over the PlayStation Lounge at the Sony Style store in New York City to earn their place in history. The five Guinness World Records that were set included: “Longest marathon playing LittleBigPlanet 2,” “Longest marathon playing a platform video game,” “Most video game genres played in one video game in 24 hours,” “Most user-generated video game levels played in 24 hours,” and “Most user-generated video game levels played in a video game marathon.” Throughout the three day period, three spirited gamers headlined the historic run—David Dino (PSN ID: Gevurah22), Sean Crowley (PSN ID: Jaeyden), and Lauren Guiliano (PSN ID: Lugey)—with various fans, developers, and local supporters taking turns sitting in the fourth chair to be part of the action.

EA has released a new Dead Space 2 trailer titled “Through the Eyes of a Necromorph” for you to check out. Dead Space 2 is slated for release on the PlayStation 3, Windows PC and Xbox 360 on January 25th in North America and January 28th in Europe. Isaac Clarke has some really cool weapons to dismember, slice and dice up all the Necromorph’s and there are lots of new characters to meet in the game.
