Killzone 3 – Multiplayer Beta Impressions (PlayStation 3)

Posted By David Klein On November 1, 2010 at 12:03 pm 5 COMMENTS

Killzone has been the crown jewel of the PS3’s first person shooter portfolio. Where the first game didn’t deliver the second one delivered in spades. Now the third game is on it’s way and a select few have been granted access to the multiplayer beta. I’ve gotten a chance to give a close look and give my impressions of what I played.

Let’s start off with what hasn’t changed at all. Killzone 3’s Warzone mode is so far an exact duplicate of the one found in the second game. The mode has the same exact objectives that crop up one after another and when a team successfully accomplishes a certain number of them then that faction wins the game. The mode is just as fun as the one that’s found in the previous game and is still different type of mode than you’d find in any other first person shooter.

Dead Rising 2 Ships Two Million Copies

Posted By Justin Lee On October 28, 2010 at 12:20 pm Comments Off on Dead Rising 2 Ships Two Million Copies

Capcom is pleased to confirm that since its release at the end of September Dead Rising 2 has achieved global shipment numbers of over two million units, bringing the total number of units of the Dead Rising franchise shipped worldwide to date to over four million. The achievement of Dead Rising 2 is a result of the successful collaboration between Capcom and Vancouver based developer Blue Castle Games.

Further to the announcement of the acquisition of Blue Castle Games at Tokyo Games Show, Capcom is extremely pleased to confirm that this acquisition has now been ratified by the Canadian authorities, with this wholly owned subsidiary being known as Capcom Game Studio Vancouver.

The sequel to the million-plus selling Dead Rising, Dead Rising 2 sees the player take on the role of former Motocross champion Chuck Greene, who has come to Fortune City, America’s newest gambling paradise, to compete in “Terror is Reality,” a gruesome game show that dares contestants to survive zombie-filled environments for big money prizes at the delight of TV audiences around the globe. Chuck’s motivation for taking part and risking life and limb is his daughter Katey, who since being bitten by a zombie requires a daily dose of Zombrex to prevent her from turning into one of the living dead. There’s no denying that Zombrex works, but since it’s the only drug on the market, its price is high.

Medal of Honor is the latest game in EA’s Medal of Honor franchise and is the game’s first step into modern day warfare. This game is very unusual because it was made by two different developers using two different engines for single player and multiplayer. Single player was developed by Danger Close using the Unreal engine and multiplayer was developed by DICE using their Frostbite engine which they used in Battlefield Bad Company 2. The game has players following elite soldiers in the Middle East through realistic missions which were made with the help of real soldiers.
