Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes – 2.0 Edition Review – Xbox 360 (Also on PlayStation 3, 4, Wii U, Windows PC and Xbox One)

Posted By Olivia Martha On October 21, 2014 at 3:13 pm Comments Off on Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes – 2.0 Edition Review – Xbox 360 (Also on PlayStation 3, 4, Wii U, Windows PC and Xbox One)

Disney Infinity 2.0 Edition HawkeyeAvalanche Software has brought us a new look at the toys-to-life genre with Disney Infinity. They took a similar approach as Activision’s Skylanders by throwing in some very well known Disney characters but decided to take it a step further and introduce Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes (2.0 Edition). As a long time Marvel comics fan, I really had high expectations for this game and maybe they were a little too high. As I do like the toy interaction of the game and the figurines, the game play could have been much better.

The whole setup itself is really well built and does not take up a lot of room. The base is not as bulky and the Skylander game so if you have limited space, it works. The figurines are well built but really cartoony to match the game itself. The starter pack comes with IronMan, Thor and Black Widow. If you want any of the other characters you have to buy them separately. Those include the rest of the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy and Spiderman play sets. Yes, that makes this game a little expensive to play and rough on any parent’s pocketbook.

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS Review

Posted By Eric Kelly On October 7, 2014 at 11:59 am Comments Off on Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS Review

Super Smash Bros 3DS - 1It’s been years since the last Smash Bros. Game, and even more since the announcement for this latest entry, but now it’s out. Well, at least half of it for now. And while the game is packed with a bevy of features, there are still a few things missing.

Despite its name, this title is actually the fourth entry in the Smash Bros. Series, following Brawl on the Wii. What does seem unnecessary is the ‘For 3DS’. While seeming redundant, there are few things that are version exclusive to the platform. The game has many different modes, most of which will also be available on the Wii U version. But there are a few modes that are exclusive to the 3ds, like Smash Run. Since the 3ds game is crammed packed with a lot of content and also a technical achievement.

Destiny Review – Xbox One

Posted By Michael Leparc On October 7, 2014 at 10:07 am Comments Off on Destiny Review – Xbox One

Destiny Beta July 2014 - 14Destiny is a game that carries a lot of hope from gamers, developers, and publisher alike. It’s Bungie’s first major title out from under the shadow of Microsoft and the Halo juggernaut they constructed with them, and Activision has bet large on it being a hit (though maybe not quite the half a billion rumored a while ago). It’s also intriguing in that it’s the biggest attempt yet at melding solid FPS fundamentals with an Massively Multiplayer Online experience (Planetside, Defiance, and the like not withstanding). The reason this review comes weeks after release is because those MMO elements take time to unfold, and even then Destiny refused to yield.
