PvP isn’t what makes or breaks the success of most MMORPGs. Despite what vocal proponents may say, it’s usually more like the icing on the cake, something to expand the audience and provide continued replay value when the PvE portion gets stale or is awaiting new content. That said, it’s an aspect of the genre that’s really been starved for some true ambition and better execution instead of being thrown together haphazardly, and on that count at least it’s safe to say that The Elder Scrolls Online has given it some serious attention.

Castlevania Lords of Shadow Mirror of Fate LogoKonami Digital Entertainment, Inc. has announced the release of a playable demo of its eagerly-awaited Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 in North and South America.

The full game is scheduled to be released on February 25th for Playstation 3, PlayStation Network, Xbox 360, Xbox LIVE Games on Demand, and Steam for PC, and demos for all formats are now available digitally. The demo allows users to become familiar with the many new advances including the game’s all-new controllable camera, vast locations, and intuitive combat elements.

The specially-tailored demo gives players control over Dracula as his castle comes under siege from the Brotherhood of Light and their armies. The demo acts as a prelude to the full game, allowing the player to become familiar with wielding the assortment of weapons such as the energy-replenishing Void Sword and the armor-destroying Chaos Claws. It also showcases a huge Titan combat sequence, wherein a gigantic enemy creation forms a moving location during the game, with Dracula scaling the moving behemoth as it assails his castle.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 has been flagged as one of the most ambitious and epic games of the current generation, and acts as a stunning conclusion to the ‘Lords of Shadow’ saga. The full game will see Dracula stranded in modern times and charged with thwarting the emergence of an even greater evil: Satan himself.

The demo is currently available via PlayStation Network, Xbox LIVE Arcade and Steam for PC. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 is also available for pre-purchase on Steam at a 10% off discount.

Vie-Games www.vie-games.com is an indie game studio that was started in Montreal. FRAMED (working title) their first project of many which we want to develop. In order to do so they have started a Kickstarter campaign to achieve its goal so we can focus on this project full time and deliver a great and immersive game.

FRAMED puts you in the role of not one but seven citizens targeted by the groups that would control them. Set up for crimes you did not commit, FRAMED allows you to play from not only the perspective of all of the victims but other characters in the world. Every shift in point of view brings new insights into the agenda of the enemy and brings you steps closer to solving the mysteries of why you? Why were you targeted? And every character you play brings you closer to the realization that your characters must be pivotal players on the global stage even if they do not know it yet.

Sony Computer Entertainment America, LLC (SCEA) today announced a new slimmer, lighter PlayStation Vita (PS Vita) Wi-Fi model (PCH-2000 series) will be available in North America this Spring. The system will be available in black as part of the Borderlands 2 Limited Edition PlayStation Vita Bundle, which includes the first-person role-playing shooter hit Borderlands 2 with six DLC packs and an 8GB PS Vita memory card, all for $199.99 (MSRP).

The new PS Vita model comes with a redesigned architecture that is approximately 20 percent slimmer and 15 percent lighter than the original version, with new rounded edges that makes the system even more comfortable to hold. Incorporating a 1GB internal memory card, the new model makes it possible to enjoy games without purchasing a separate PS Vita memory card*1. The battery life has also been extended to four- to six-hours of game play (from three- to five-hours in the current model) and approximately seven hours of video play (from five hours in the current model). In addition, a high-definition liquid crystal display (LCD) has been adopted for the new system, delivering vivid and crisp visuals that PS Vita games are known for.

A week after a mysterious crate was discovered deep in the Canadian wilderness, information about its contents are finally being released. Examined in a secure facility near Whistler, British Columbia, television personality Ajay Fry and Donkey Kong himself have revealed what the much-speculated crate contained – and it’s totally bananas! In fact, it’s an ice block full of bananas!

The discovered bananas, Donkey Kong’s favourite fruit, are part of Nintendo of Canada’s national contest to have Canadians guess the number of bananas frozen inside the massive block of ice. Prizes include a grand prize of a four-day adventure trip for four to Whistler Blackcomb and a Wii U Donkey Kong Prize Pack that includes a Wii U Deluxe Set system, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze game, Wii Remote Plus controller, and Nunchuk controller (retail value: $9,740). Five runners-up will also win a Wii U Donkey Kong Prize Pack that includes a Wii U Deluxe Set, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze game, Wii Remote Plus controller, and Nunchuk controller (retail value: $410).
