Put on your Scouters and get your Super Saiyan Hair dos ready! NAMCO BANDAI Games America today announces that Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z will officially launch on January 28th, 2014 in the Americas for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PS Vita (digital only).

This newest chapter of the much loved Dragon Ball Z series of video games takes-on the classic Dragon Ball Z manga look with its clean/sharp lines and vivid colors; creating a much more stylized look and feel to all your favorite Dragon Ball Z characters and environments.

The single player campaign will feature expansive environments in which to wreak havoc and destruction upon enemies and bosses alike. Savvy players will utilize all of the character control features to guarantee their victory including the ability to issue team orders to attack, defend, or heal other team members. Players will also be able to take on the most hated and feared Dragon Ball Z enemies in co-op team play or take the battle online against other friends for up to eight players.

Just in time for Halloween, Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc., today announced an all-new HD edition of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate is available now for digital download via Xbox LIVE Arcade for $14.99. Players will also be given automatic access to an exclusive playable demo of the highly anticipated conclusion of the Lords of Shadow saga, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2.

Developed by MercurySteam, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate HD is set 25 years after the events of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, and acts as a precursor to Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, which will be released this February.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today has released a new video, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate – Cell Blocks Gameplay Walkthrough , just in time for the game’s worldwide launch tomorrow, October 25th on PlayStation Vita handheld entertainment system and Nintendo 3DS handheld system.

Sony Computer Entertainment Canada announced today that an exclusive Canadian bundle with a new “Azurite” blue coloured PlayStation 3 console and EASPORTS’ NHL14 video game will be released this week. With the combination of the new blue console variant and the latest release from EASPORTS’ NHL franchise, SCEC hopes to capture the hearts and passion of many hockey gamers and sports fans unique to Canada.

Nintendo is launching a new Wii U Deluxe Set that puts the focus on value, and highlights the two biggest names in video games: Mario and his brother, Luigi. Available in stores on November 1, the Wii U Deluxe model will come with two games – New Super Mario Bros. U and New Super Luigi U – all on one disc. The new configuration will sell at the low suggested retail price of $299.99, and replaces the existing Wii U Deluxe Set, which included Nintendo Land.

The beautiful, limited-edition Wii U Deluxe bundle that comes with a download code for The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD, a gorgeous GamePad controller adorned with art inspired by The Legend of Zelda series and a download code for a digital copy of Hyrule Historia is also still available at a suggested retail price of $299.99 in Canada and the United States while supplies last.

EA has a new gameplay blog that showcases the game’s authentic responsiveness, various dribble moves and signature styles which helps deliver the most realistic game experience possible.

NBA LIVE 14 is built on the idea that to deliver the most authentic experience possible, you must ensure that the athletes move and respond just like the real thing.

But what if the on-ball defender could immediately change direction and move to his left without any consequences? The balance of the game would be broken, as there is no reason for me to try to fake since it has little outcome on my ability to get past a defender. This results in outcomes that are less varied and less authentic.

Nintendo of Canada hosted Canada’s Largest Pokémon Gathering at the Toronto Harbourfront Centre on October 11 to celebrate the worldwide launch of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. Over 2,200 fans were among the first in Canada to try the latest installments to the popular game franchise, which are now available for Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo 2DS. Check out the photos below:

Scribblenauts is a franchise that prides itself in centering its gameplay around the player’s imagination, so it’s interesting to see this latest edition willingly borrow from the decades of storytelling found within DC Comics annals for Scribblenauts Unmasked: A DC Comics Adventure. There’s a couple of pitfalls in such an undertaking, chiefly in the possibility of undermining the gameplay by handing the player too many crutches in the form of superheroes and their associated powers, but also in not treating the subject matter with the reverence fans expect. 5th Cell manages to escape the latter, at least.
