Hot Wheels Worlds Best Driver - 1One would think that with a property like Hot Wheels, there would have been at least a higher level of interest in the amount of quality you would want to invest in games made of the franchise. Sadly, this is another game that does not get that treatment; instead it’s yet another game trying to make a quick buck. It’s not all bad though.

Puppeteer Review – PlayStation 3

Posted By Eric Kelly On October 7, 2013 at 10:34 am Comments Off on Puppeteer Review – PlayStation 3

Puppeteer_SC_mv130603_E3_039Puppeteer is a kind of a game that came out of nowhere; it has not received much marketing. A very simple but cute and enjoyable platformer, that’s kind of a shame. Especially since the game could have been a much richer experience. But maybe that’s the bigger shortcoming.

The game is about a young boy named Kutaro whose head was removed by the Moon Bear King after he revolted against the Moon Goddess and took over the moon and destroying the Moon Stone. The Moon Stone was broken into several shards, and after Kutaro gains a temporary head and the ‘Calibrus’, he sets out to recover the moonstone shards and overthrow the Bear Tyrant. The Calibrus is a magic pair of scissors that are used for the bulk of the gameplay. They can of course be used to attack enemies or to cut through objects to traverse the terrain. They also add a slight bit of height and reach to a jump. Later on, Kutaro will gain other abilities like throwing bombs or slamming powers. The Calibrus is also powered up to allow even more advanced level traversing abilities. These abilities are needed to find secret areas as well, but you will have to return back to these levels to access them as they are locked out initially. In addition, Kutaro also has many temporary heads to equip. He can have up to three heads at a time, and they are also a health bar of shorts. They allow Kutaro to take three hits before dying, but they can be recovered if you can retrieve them before they disappear. Other actions that Kutaro can perform are a reflective shield and rolling.

The Sims 3 Movie Stuff Pack – Review (Windows PC)

Posted By Celeste Dobropolski On October 7, 2013 at 9:40 am Comments Off on The Sims 3 Movie Stuff Pack – Review (Windows PC)

ts3_moviestuff_superheroMovie Stuff, the latest stuff pack for the Sims 3, builds a richer environment for Sims with stars in their eyes. Movie Stuff is the ninth stuff pack, so this means it’s not a full expansion but instead offers many new items. The theme here is movies, so costumes, set pieces, and even backdrops are what you’ll find here. The costumes and hairstyles are great, though the items all fall into specific categories of film. The first genre is horror/supernatural, including black lace veils and clothing with an abundance of leather straps. This makes the stuff pack a great addition to the Supernatural expansion pack. Those who enjoy the vampire, werewolf, and witch Sims will consider the spookier fashion pieces simply to die for. If the new clothing and hairstyles aren’t creepy enough, Sims can always scare others by filling their houses with haunted furniture, such as spooky bookshelves, dining tables, and candelabras.

NHL 14 Review – Xbox 360 (Also Available on PS3)

1280x720_nhl14-chi-bos-demoscreen_wmUnlike with Madden and FIFA, EA Sports elected to hold off on porting NHL 14 to the new consoles coming around the corner. This means their attention during development probably hasn’t been as split the way it may have been with the two bigger franchises, but at the same time, it also means that this year’s edition is once again more of a tweak than a radical reworking of the game.

Soaring, zooming and jetting high in the sky are seven playable vehicles for the upcoming release of LEGO Marvel Super Heroes available October 22 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation Vita and PC. The game is also a launch title for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Players will be able to navigate LEGO Marvel New York and other iconic locations from the Marvel universe in style with powerful vehicles, such as: Cloud Rider, Deadpool Scooter, Fantasticar, Magneto Mobile, Pumpkin Chopper, Spider Copter and the X-jet.

In fact, Cloud Rider was designed by 14 year-old Thomas, avid LEGO fan and gamer who won the LEGO Marvel Facebook contest hosted by LEGO, which asked fans to create a physical model of a vehicle that TT Games then integrated digitally into the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes videogame. This is the first time TT Games has ever done anything like this.
