Posted By Kevin Lee II On July 2, 2013 at 2:32 pm Comments Off on Terraria Review – Xbox 360 (XBLA)

Terraria screenlg6There seems to be a big trend at the moment for games that give you the tools and the minimal amount of training before pushing you firmly out the door into a big wide world and leaving you to it. People clearly enjoy these types of games, otherwise the phenomenon that is known as Minecraft wouldn’t be so successful. The reason they’re so popular is that they combine the blissful elements of adventure and exploration with imagination and inventiveness. You can voyage to the ends of the world to find new lands and opportunities, or you can stay at home and create anything your mind can generate from the weird and random ideas floating around in there.

Resident Evil Revelations Review – Wii U

Posted By Michael Leparc On June 24, 2013 at 3:45 am 1 COMMENT

Resident Evil Revelations raid_rachel_003_bmp_jpgcopyLet’s face it, the Resident Evil franchise is in a bit of dire straits, at least in critical reception if not sales. Its last major release, Resident Evil 6, has seen the flagship sail into lonely waters, seemingly directionless as it wavers between its survival horror roots and it’s action shooter aspirations. Oddly enough, however, its plucky little 3DS cousin in Resident Evil: Revelations seems to have found the route to success, so Capcom has called them in to right the home console ship. Can they really pull off the rescue in time to save the franchise’s day?

Microsoft Pulls 24 Hour Check in and Used Games DRM for Xbox One

Posted By Justin Lee On June 19, 2013 at 4:58 pm Comments Off on Microsoft Pulls 24 Hour Check in and Used Games DRM for Xbox One

Xbox One Console Kinect and ControllerAfter the huge backlash from overseas troops, gamers and people without high speed internet. Microsoft has pulled the 24 hour check for Xbox One disc based games and the restrictions on used games. You will only have to setup your Xbox One online for the first start up, that’s it that’s all. However, how that the online checks are gone, so is the game sharing with friends that you’ve known for 30 days. Read on for all the detials…

Last week at E3, the excitement, creativity and future of our industry was on display for a global audience.

For us, the future comes in the form of Xbox One, a system designed to be the best place to play games this year and for many years to come. As is our heritage with Xbox, we designed a system that could take full advantage of advances in technology in order to deliver a breakthrough in game play and entertainment. We imagined a new set of benefits such as easier roaming, family sharing, and new ways to try and buy games. We believe in the benefits of a connected, digital future.

Since unveiling our plans for Xbox One, my team and I have heard directly from many of you, read your comments and listened to your feedback. I would like to take the opportunity today to thank you for your assistance in helping us to reshape the future of Xbox One.

You told us how much you loved the flexibility you have today with games delivered on disc. The ability to lend, share, and resell these games at your discretion is of incredible importance to you. Also important to you is the freedom to play offline, for any length of time, anywhere in the world.

So, today I am announcing the following changes to Xbox One and how you can play, share, lend, and resell your games exactly as you do today on Xbox 360. Here is what that means:

An internet connection will not be required to play offline Xbox One games – After a one-time system set-up with a new Xbox One, you can play any disc based game without ever connecting online again. There is no 24 hour connection requirement and you can take your Xbox One anywhere you want and play your games, just like on Xbox 360.

Trade-in, lend, resell, gift, and rent disc based games just like you do today – There will be no limitations to using and sharing games, it will work just as it does today on Xbox 360.
