Disney Interactive Announces “Disney’s Planes” Video Game / First Screenshots Released

Disney Interactive today announced that “Disney’s Planes,” a flying adventure video game inspired by the upcoming Disney animated comedy adventure film, will be available exclusively for Nintendo platforms including the Wii and Wii U systems as well as the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo DS handheld devices on August 6th, just a few days prior to the film’s August 9th opening in theaters nationwide. The game will expand beyond the storyline of “Disney’s Planes,” offering players the opportunity to enjoy the thrill of flight as one of the popular characters from the film.

From above the world of “Cars,” “Disney’s Planes” video game takes players on a high-flying, action-packed, fun-filled adventure with Dusty, a big-hearted, speed-loving crop duster who is voiced by actor and comedian Dane Cook. Players will take to the skies with Dusty and other characters, including Ishani, voiced by actress Priyanka Chopra; Echo, voiced by actor Anthony Edwards; and Bravo, voiced by actor Val Kilmer, as they embark on global missions, air races and grand adventures around the world.

EA and Criterion are hoping that Wii U owners have put the decision off long enough to be enticed by this new special edition of Need for Speed: Most Wanted U, and unlike their previous ports a lot of love and care seems to have been put into it. The result is probably the first multiplatform game in which you could credibly describe the Wii U version as the definitive edition.

Electronic Arts Inc. today announced that SimCity will be coming to the Mac on June 11 exclusively as a digital release via Origin and other online retailers. Fans who purchase SimCity will be able to play the game on Mac and PC, regardless of which version they buy, as well as access their cities from across both platforms. Coming later this evening is the next system software update for PS Vita. We’ve listened to your feedback and have included many improvements to make your PS Vita experience much more enjoyable, such as adding a new folder system that allows you to organize your games and apps.

Here’s a look at some of the new enhancements you can expect with software update v.2.10:

Create folders to more easily manage your favorite application icons on the home screen, with up to 10 icons in each folder and a maximum of 100 on the home screen (including icons inside the folders).

The Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon “april fools” trailer and website that Ubisoft unvield appears to be a real game. Hackers managed to download a copy of Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon from uplay Russia and then posted over 30 minutes of game footage (16-bit cut scenes with 80’s music to match the first person shooter levels) on Youtube.

No word from Ubisoft about the release date of this game, but it appears to be stand alone game as the video footage starts straight off in the game and does not launch from the Far Cry 3 PC menu.

Batman Arkham Origins logoWarner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment today announced Batman: Arkham Origins and Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate, the next installments of the blockbuster Batman: Arkham videogame franchise.

Batman: Arkham Origins will be available for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation 3 system, the Wii U system, and Windows PC. Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate will be available for the Nintendo 3DS handheld system, and PlayStation Vita handheld entertainment system. Both titles are scheduled to release worldwide Oct. 25, 2013.
