Gears of War: Judgment – Text and Video Review (Xbox 360)

Posted By Justin Lee On March 19, 2013 at 12:01 am 3 COMMENTS

Gears of War Judgment Screenshot - 1It’s time for the prequel! Gears of War Judgment takes place 15 years before the first Gears of War video game, this time things are not well with Kilo squad…they start off in handcuffs. Under arrest for ignoring orders from HQ because it just wasn’t the right thing to do. While at the tribunal, the story unfolds with flashbacks from each of the main characters of the game. We’ve got Damon Baird of course and Augustus Cole (Cole Train) from the previous Gears of War games and two new faces Garron Paduk and Cadet Sofia Hendrick. You get to play as each member of Kilo squad as the story is “told” through missions. Is Gears of War Judgment just “more of the same” or is there enough to warrant buying this game?

Posted By Justin Lee On March 14, 2013 at 3:49 pm Comments Off on Call of Juarez Gunslinger – First Gameplay Trailer Released

Today, Ubisoft is revealing the first gameplay trailer for Call of Juarez Gunslinger.

From the dust of a gold mine to the dirt of a saloon, Call of Juarez Gunslinger is a real homage to the Wild West tales and era. Players will live the epic journey of Silas Greaves, a ruthless bounty hunter who spent his life on the trail of the West’s most notorious outlaws. Now it is Silas’ time to tell his story, which is linked to the history of the Wild West era: a mix of myths and historical facts.

Made of memorable encounters with some of the West’s most notorious names such as Pat Garret, Jesse James and Butch Cassidy, the game blurs the lines between man and myth. Call of Juarez Gunslinger lets players live the greatest legends of the Old West.

Rocket Birds 01For those who follow indie games closely and the Independent Game Festival in particular, Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken might be at least somewhat familiar. A earlier Flash version of the game was nominated as a finalist for three awards at the 2010 festival. Now roughly a couple years later comes a finished downloadable product on PC, Playstation 3, and Vita, the latter of which we’ll be reviewing here. It’s interesting how Sony’s platforms have become a bastion of sorts for quirky, yet fun indie titles despite no branded push for them like Microsoft’s XBLIG. Rocketbirds in particular is no exception to this trend.
